I say GC wins it next year and here is why. We are just now getting over losing our team that went 37-1 in 2016 winning the Silver Ball. We will have 13 players that can play next year and that includes incoming freshman talent Madison Hart. We also have 5 or 6 more freshman coming in that are good players that will increase our roster to 20-22 girls. We have never had that kind of depth. We get Alaina Hunt back who broke her hand at Trenton before tournaments. Really tough loss because she scored double digits lots of games and rebounded double digits lots of games. Our JV girls are solid as a rock and will contribute even more this year. They have only lost to two teams (5 games) in last 150 to Dyer County and Dyersburg. AAA and AA teams. They really have taken the Greenfield loss personal and our goal is to win the Gold Ball as it is every year. I am a family member of a player and we started boot camp last Monday. Now I am sure Greenfield Fans will have different opinions. But I have Faith and Confidence that we will get it done.

You called it man!!

I'll chime back in around January 2020...too early to tell right now, but we have a lot of great players coming back next year and it's going to be wide open in Single A next year.

I will call it first. Hart will average 12-14 next year as will Bass and Neal. Sweat may and Hunt as well. It will not be a rebuilding year!!

We've got 3 Gold Balls and 1 Silver in the last 10 years at GC...we got a good thing going. Greenfield has made 2 back-to-back trips and have a Gold Ball and everyone back and probably have the best 2 pure players in the NorthWest. Our neighbors, Westview, have made 9 of the last 11 State Tournaments (the last 7 in a row) which is an amazing feat if you think about it and they've got the TMSAA Jr. High Champions joining them after this school year with a prolific scorer...to go along with their 2nd half season defense shifts.

NorthWest Tennessee is home to some pretty good programs and it's going to be fun for several years. Hope everyone remains healthy during the upcoming AAU/team events and we'll get on here and do it again next year. We may not get along during the tournaments to get there, but after we make it...we pull for each other as long as we're not playing each other.

Happy Hooping!! GC- Single A Champions 2019

West TN is strong as well as the state in Single A. Loretta, Summertown and Clarkrange will all be back as well. GC will be good for at least five years.

Congratulations to Gibson County! Great team and seem to have high character girls. They never seem to complain or pout or get technicals. That is a testament to their coaches and parents. And to lose a top player and still win the championship, how many teams could have done that. Happy for them and their fans.

    • hey goat! how’s monterey looking this year?!
    • several people actually. they said “snoball, do you know who railbird81 is on coacht?” I said, “never heard of her.” they said, “you ought to check it out they’re getting fired up on there like the old days.” well, you can imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting sharp, witty banter and all i found was more akin to toddlers slap fighting. and what looks like 1 guy/gal talking to themselves with multiple accounts.
    • Shopping? His family is loaded and he's 6'6 I'm pretty sure he could start anywhere in upper East TN,So no need to shop. Word is Witten got caught trying to work him out on campus and some 7 on 7 while playing athletics for Sullivan East. Word got around pretty quick and Someone turned them into TSSAA.
    • Quick update on Jacob -  Jacob celebrated his 16th birthday at Vanderbilt on Tuesday and has been in decent spirits.  His sense of humor has begun to show as he was visited by many friends.  He is swallowing a lot better now and has eaten some of his favorites (Chik-Fil-A and Five Guys).   He is getting prepared to head to Atlanta to the Shepherd Center first thing tomorrow morning.  His family has been waiting on insurance approval. In case you dont know the Shepherd Center it a world class facility and supposedly one of the best in the country for spinal injury rehab.  Praying for perfect results there. Considering the circumstances, Jacob is in decent spirits.  He has some reflexive movement in his legs which I think is probably a very positive sign.  Don't read too much into that just yet as there is no telling what the real prognosis is... just hopeful that is good thing.  I am really just happy that it seems like he has a punchers chance of getting something back.  He is a strong young man and very determined so I think he will fight as hard as he can in physical therapy while down in Atlanta. More than one of you has asked me about an address to send donations.  I know GoFundMe isn't for everyone.  If you want to go that route, you can make a check to "Blackman Wrestling Club" and we will pass anything received directly to the Kinderdines.   Jacob Kinderdine c/o Blackman Wrestling 4836 Trevino Court Murfreesboro, TN  37128 Also, want to thank everyone who has donated so far.  Jacobs dad will take a month off work and stay in Atlanta with him.  They need to learn how to take care of him and do home therapy work..... and surely Jacob will be glad his dad can be there.  All that could not happen without you all.  Depending on what happens, they will probably end up doing some home remodeling in order to accommodate Jacob at their home.  Thanks again. Here's a pic I lifted from Facebook of Jacob on Oxy talking to his Uncle.  LOL
