This is not true. There are many responsible for a teams success or failure. Administrative support, parent/community involvement, player by-in and good quality assistants all doing their job and working hard make a successful program. But I know a few great assistants that can be brought in to any program as a hired gun and make a good team great and a great team special. Not saying zero value, just saying the head coach runs the show. most teams are a direct reflection of head coach's philosophy, organization, leadership, and discipline.
