These numbers may not be spot on but they are close. Classifications of Bordering States. Do we need more classifications for Basketball???

Arkansas has a population of 2.9 Million and has 7 Classes - 468 High Schools

Mississippi has a population of less than 3 Million and has 6 classes - 568 High Schools

Alabama has a population of less than 4.8 Million and has 7 classes - 1,106 High Schools

Georgia has a population of less than 10.5 Million and has 7 classes - 2,200 High Schools

North Carolina has a population of less than 10.7 Million and has 4 classes - 2 557 High Schools

Virginia has a population of less than 8.5 Million and has 6 classes - 966 High Schools

Missouri has a population of less than 6.1 Million and has 5 classes - 2,406 High Schools

Kentucky has a population of less than 4.5 Million and has ONE CLASS (WOW) - 691 High Schools

Tennessee has a population of 6.3 Million and has 3 CLASSES - 1,817

I believe you are wrong on the number of high schools per state. Tennessee has less than 400 that are TSSAA members. Alabama has around 450.

Yes I typed wrong number for Tennessee. I will edit  but highschools.com says Alabama has 919 public and 187 Private

I don't know Coach Simmons but Im sure he is smart enough to play the way the talent dictates. He isn't going to play the same style he played at USJ. If he does then he deserves to be fired. However, HE WON"T. He has been around long enough to know better.

Very questionable hire by Haywood here. He did some good things at USJ but it's rumors of some behind the scenes stuff there that took place, also how is his style of play (cutting, running set plays) gonna mesh with a team that knows only one way to play. I hope it works or he's gonna be hired to be fired in a year.

Questionable indeed. Was at 4 schools in Florida and was gone in a year in each. At Poinciana outside Orlando and left to teach in the Florida Virtual School program. Lots of baggage with this guy.

He has had several jobs but made the most of his talent at USJ. Give him chance.

    • College coaches stopped looking at Winfree after the coach destroyed Winfree's reputation and shared things with coaches.
    • Congratulations to Coach Runyon. He seemed to do a good job when I watched his teams play. He didn't coach like he was ready to retire. With that being said... both coaching positions in the same district open... which one of these jobs is the best job and why?  also, it is a coincidence that they both leave at the same time...

    • good points. I guess the question is do the coaches need to be out of the classroom and get paid for just coaching. maybe move the coaching jobs to just coaching and no teaching. that would open up the coaching ranks to some good coaches that are not qualified to teach. Then you could do contracts and pay them whatever you want to pay them. move the positions to contracts.  Just like college. Thoughts?
    • It's not just DB, I don't think any of the NET big schools will ever be relevant in football.      Meaning in the playoffs.....
