Add James McLemore to that list. He fought the Japaneese on Iwo Jima and was an All-State player for the Mustangs. Went on to play for Mississippi State and played in the Orange bowl. Also Warren Blankenship, Jimmy Watson, Buster Barger, Johnny Compton and James? Hicks from Bruceton. Reggie Gordon  had to be one of the toughest players to play for Huntingdon. He could totally disrupt a game on defense..

I thought the Renfroe kid that played a few years back was one of the toughest players during that era.

What position did McLemore play in college?

I'm not sure what he played in college but he was a running back for the Mustangs and his nickname was "Mule". Very interesting man to talk to and he could tell you stories all day long from General Neyland at Tennessee to any former player from Huntingdon. Huntingdon went 11-0 his senior year I believe. Mr. McLemore went to UT for a year but he told me they had too many All-Americans there and he could see his playing time would be limited and then he went to Miss. State. His Miss. State team was honored a few years ago down in Starkville..
