JUSTIN BARNEY

P Destiney Passmore

School/class: Menendez, sr.

Batting stats: .422, 14 RBIs, 16 runs, 2 HR; pitching stats: 12-10, 2.25 ERA, 160 Ks

Why she's here: Carried the Falcons to just their second playoff berth in program history. Was a leader at the plate and in the pitcher's circle. An honorable mention player on the All-Decade team. Finished her career with 625 strikeouts from the pitcher's circle. Has signed with Florida State College at Jacksonville.

P Chelsey Pedley

School/class: Bartram Trail, sr.

Stats: 23-3, 1.26 ERA, 125 Ks

Why she's here: County's most successful pitcher was solid in her only season as a starter. Left-hander helped the Bears reach their fourth consecutive state semifinal. Has signed with George Washington University.

P Taylor Smith

School/class: Ponte Vedra, sr.

Stats: 8-5, 91 IP, 63 Ks, 1.38 ERA

Why she's here: A multi-year starter for the Sharks, she was the team's top hurler for most of the season. Will take the softball path to college like her sister Amanda (St. Johns River State College) in 2010. Has signed with Florida Tech.

C Hayley Craven

School/class: Bartram Trail, sr.

Stats: .333, 15 RBIs, HR

Why she's here: Had been a very good defensive player with a so-so bat, but she became a more complete player in her final season. Runners learned to not steal on her. Only had two errors in 31 games behind the plate. Has signed with Flagler College.

C Rachel Pewitt

School/class: Ponte Vedra, jr.

Stats: .380, 4 2Bs, HR, 24 RBIs

Why she's here: Very good defensive catcher who also had a live bat. Second on the team in RBIs. Good arm and instincts behind the plate, she made just three errors all season.

OF Selina Hernandez

School/class: Ponte Vedra, sr.

Stats: .407, 7 2Bs, 3B

Why she's here: A four-year player (one at Nease, three at PV) and a two-time All-County selection. Good range in the outfield and also an occasional infielder. Has signed with Newberry.

OF Joanna Malandrucco

School/class: Bartram Trail, sr.

Stats: .382, 31 RBIs, 10 2Bs, 4 HR, 2 3Bs

Why she's here: One of the most consistent players of the past four seasons, she's a two-time All-County selection. Powerful hitter, she was also one of the state's top weightlifters, too. Selection on the Florida Athletic Coaches Association All-Star team. Had a .330 career batting average. Has signed with Seminole State College.

IF Kelsey Chisholm

School/class: Bartram Trail, fr.

Stats: .409, 24 RBIs, 10 2Bs, 4 3Bs, 2 HR

Why she's here: Had a stellar rookie season, leading the state semifinalist Bears in hits (45). Could hit to both sides of the field and looked smooth playing defense. Tons of upside.

IF Libby Crowe

School/class: Bartram Trail, sr.

Stats: .344, 6 2Bs, 3 HR, 20 R, 19 RBIs

Why she's here: The Record's top player is a three-time All-County selection and four-year starter. Will go down as one of the most consistent players in Bartram's decorated history. Her career batting average was .332. Has signed with Princeton.

IF Victoria Daddis

School/class: Creekside, so.

Stats: .456, 10 doubles, 2 triples

Why she's here: Along with Bartram's Kelsey Chisholm and PV's Brittany McGuire, she's one of the county's top underclassmen shortstops. Led the Knights offensively, with every third hit going for extra bases. Creekside will build around her next season. County coaches love her potential.

IF Savannah McCormack

School/class: Bartram Trail, fr.

Stats: .392, 9 2Bs, 2 HRs, 3B, 21 R, 14 RBIs

Why she's here: On the veteran Bears, she was second on the team in hitting. In the field, she made just two errors all season. She's going to be a tough out for the next three years. Swings with authority.

IF Abby Tewey

School/class: Bartram Trail, sr.

Stats: .340, 22 RBIs, 8 2Bs, HR

Why she's here: Two-time All-County player elevated her all-around game in her final season. More consistent at the plate, she upped her batting average 56 points from 2010. County's best player at the hot corner, she made just six errors in 32 games. Has signed with Florida International.

UT Ali French

School/class: Creekside, fr.

Stats: .357, 13 RBIs, 10 R, 2 HRs

Why she's here: Another impact first-year player for the Knights. Sharp eye, she struck out only four times all year. First baseman should be an infield anchor for three seasons. She and fellow All-County player Victoria Daddis should make the Knights feel good about their infield in 2012.

UT Brittany McGuire

School/class: Ponte Vedra, fr.

Stats: .360, 26 RBIs, 5 2Bs, 3 3Bs, 2 HRs

Why she's here: Arrived on the scene a little earlier than expected due to the injury of All-County SS Amber Batchelder. Hit for average and power. She was one of the county's top all-around players. Had 10 extra-base hits and did plenty of damage with runners on base.
