WEEK 10 HONOR ROLL

Each week during the season, the Times-Union selects five area players who turned in standout performances the previous week. Coaches can email nominations to

preps@jacksonville.com by Monday evening.

Rique Bentley, Fletcher, OLB: The senior recorded 11 tackles and three pass breakups, blocked a field goal that was returned 60 yards for a touchdown and ran for a 30-yard score in Fletcher's 42-12 win over Mandarin.

Brandon Brooks, First Coast, WR: The senior caught seven passes for 103 yards and a touchdown in helping the Buccaneers rally to edge White 35-34 for the District 2-7A title.

Keith George, West Nassau, LB: The junior recorded 10 tackles and a sack to lead the Warriors past Fernandina Beach 28-21 to clinch the runner-up spot in District 2-4A behind Yulee and earn a playoff berth.

Marvel Taylor, Trinity Christian, RB/LB: The senior rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns, as well as recovered a fumble at Trinity's 5-yard line to help the Conquerors rally from a 26-14 deficit to win 42-26 and clinch a berth in the 3A playoffs.

Wes Weeks, Clay, DB: The sophomore, making his first start at safety, intercepted two passes, broke up three more passes and recorded nine tackles in Clay's 41-28 win over Forrest that helped clinch a 5A playoff spot.
