No. 25 Argos Blank Bucs to Complete Sweep

PENSACOLA, Fla.-Junior righthander Reed Bright threw a five-hit shutout to lead No. 25 West Florida to a 7-0 win over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Saturday afternoon in the series finale.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Argos (11-5, 5-4 GSC) gave Bright the only run he would need in the first inning with a single, a stolen base, a throwing error and a sacrifice fly.
• The Bucs (6-7, 2-4) threatened to score in the top of the fifth. Caleb Goodwin (Shreveport, La./Evangel Christian Academy) walked and Casey Goodwin (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) singled with one out, but a pair of strikeouts ended the threat and the Bucs never put a runner in scoring position again.
• UWF added four more in the bottom of the fifth on two doubles, two singles and a triple.
• The Argos set the final margin with two runs in the eighth on two singles, a walk and a pair of RBI groundouts.

KEY STATS:
• Casey Goodwin went 2-for-2 with a sacrifice bunt.
• Caleb Goodwin was 1-for-3 with a walk.
• Myles Holliman (Germantown, Tenn./Germantown HS) and Cameron Coker (Germantown, Tenn./Germantown HS) each went 1-for-4.

NOTABLE:

• Mac Cooley (Bartlett, Tenn./Horn Lake HS) went 0-for-4, snapping his hitting streak after six games. Cooley had reached base safely in the Bucs' first 12 games and had at least one hit in 11 of the first 12.
