Prep Roundup: Renfroe, Allday throw gems in wins

West Port’s Cole Renfroe and Vanguard’s Trace Allday combined for 21 strikeouts and no earned runs to lead their baseball teams to victories on Monday night.

West Port 2, Gainesville 0: At WPHS, the Wolf Pack was led by senior right-hander Cole Renfroe, who threw a complete-game shutout with 11 Ks and one BB.

Jayson Yaccarino went 1-3 with a triple and a run scored in the fifth inning.

Vanguard 2, Forest 1: At VHS, the Knights were paced by Trace Allday (10 Ks with 0 ER allowed and just 5 hits), reliever Jake Tompkins (1.1 IP with 2 Ks to improve to 1-0), Brian Long (hit, run, BB) and Kylin Carter (hit).

The Wildcats were led by Ty Moody (4 IP with 7 Ks), Bo Hunt (2 IP of scoreless relief with 3 Ks), Bradley White II (2 hits, SB, run) and Trevor Murray (2B).

GIRLS TENNIS

Forest 7, West Port 0: At Coehadjoe, Taylor Martinelli and Ryleigh Hickman each won their singles matches, 8-0, for the Wildcats.
