Baseball

New Smyrna Beach 11, Mainland 1

Batting highlights: NSB Owens, 2-3, 2B; NSB Flacco 2-4, 2B, 2 RBI; NSB Garvey 2 RBI; Mainland Evans 3B.

Pitching highlights: W: Tyler Baker, 3.1 innings, 9 strikeouts, 1 earned run.

Of Note: Mainland put up a run in the first inning following a triple by Evans and an RBI single by Campbell. NSB answered in the bottom of the first by scoring two after a lead off double by Flacco and a string of walks. NSB pulled further ahead in the second inning after a string of hits from the heart of the order to grab three runs and have a four run lead going into the third inning. NSB continued to capitalize on offensive opportunities throughout the game which led to scoring runs in all five innings.

Records: Mainland 0-1. New Smyrna Beach 2-0.

Spruce Creek 9, Orlando Olympia 1

Batting highlights: Evan Mastromauro: 2-4, 2 RBI.  Sebastian Iguraran: 2-2, 2 RBI, 2 2B.  Ashton Nuger: 1-1, 2 runs, Corey Robinson 1-3 2 runs.

Pitching highlights: Brandon Neely got the win, going 5 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 7. His record is now 2-0.

Records: Olympia 1-2. Spruce Creek 3-0.

Softball

Seabreeze 8, Father Lopez 0

Batting highlights: Ginna Mohr had 3 hits. She, Abbey Mele and Karelyn Garcia each had RBI.

Pitching highlights: Julie Kelley threw a no-hitter for Seabreeze, striking out 19 with no walks. Emma Wilen had 10 strikeouts for Lopez 

Records: Seabreeze 3-0.

Deltona 15, Atlantic 0

Batting highlights: Deltona, Strempel 3-3 and 4 RBI, Martell 2-3 and 3 RBI; Perry 2-3, 3 RBI; M. Woerner 2-3, 3 RBI.

Pitching highlights: W: Strempel. L: Carson.

Records: Deltona 3-0.

Matanzas 16, Pine Ridge 1

Batting highlights: Haley, Ferri, Rumplick, Sampselle (M) 2 hits each; Rumplick (M) 3 RBI.

Pitching highlights: Wood (M) allowed 1 earned run, 2 strikeouts.

Seabreeze 7, Pine Ridge 5

Batting highlights: Ginna Mohr (S) had three hits. Abbey Mele, Zoe Lawson, and Shanaa Hewitt each had a RBI for Seabreeze. Hudson (P) went 2-2 with three stolen bases 

Pitching highlights: Julie Kelley (S) went five innings, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out 12.
