Jensen Beach flag football scores win over Port St. Lucie highlights Thursday's action

Flag Football

Jensen Beach 26, Port St. Lucie 13: Ja’shya Christie threw three touchdowns and added two interceptions on defense to lead the way for the Falcons (2-1). Lauren Duke was on the receiving end of two of Christie’s touchdown passes and added an interception, Naiya Sawtelle had a 30-yard touchdown catch, Vanessa Queen had a 40-yard rushing touchdown and also added an interception on defense and Danielle Petry along with Ella Zaccheo each had three flag pulls for Jensen Beach.

Fort Pierce Westwood 19, Martin County 6: Lawayndra Walker had 108 yards through the air and a touchdown and ran for 65 yards and a touchdown to lead the way for the Panthers (5-1). Trenicia Merricks ran for 71 yards and a touchdown and had eight flag pulls on defense, Shakeria Briggs had a touchdown reception, and Velise Destile had 12 flag pulls for Fort Pierce Westwood.

Baseball

South Fork 6, Fort Pierce Westwood 1: Emory Capps had a two-run double to give the Bulldogs (3-6) the lead in the sixth inning and added two more RBIs in the seventh in the victory. Kaiden Jones went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, Sam Reeder went 3-for-4 with a double and Grant Jones only needed 82 pitches to fire a two-hitter for South Fork.

Jupiter Christian 1, Sebastian River 0: Nate Martin struck out seven over five scoreless innings and had the lone hit offensively for the Sharks (4-3) in the loss.

Softball

John Carroll Catholic 12, King’s Academy 11: Kendra Chapa’s RBI triple with two outs in the top of the seventh and Sophia Loreto slamming the door in the home half sent the Rams (5-3) to victory.

Loreto, who struck out six and allowed three earned runs in a complete-game effort, scored all the way from first on Chapa’s triple after Kaley Brancaccio scored the tying run off a King’s Academy error.

Brancaccio went 3-for-4 at the plate, Bridget Guettler went 2-for-4 with a double, Loreto had two hits including a double and Chapa, Julia Schrot and Ayonna Mitchell each had two hits for John Carroll, which trailed 6-0 after two innings before scoring seven third-inning runs to get back in the game.

Martin County 15, Jensen Beach 0 (3 innings): Emily MacMullen struck out seven in a three-inning no-hitter and had two doubles and five RBIs at the plate to pace the Tigers. Brooke Vega blasted a three-run home run for Martin County.

Boys Lacrosse

Martin County 10, Jensen Beach 8: Jake Tommeraas and Jaxson Sellick each scored three goals to lead the Tigers (4-3) to victory. Carson Morre scored two goals, Joesph Senior and Gianni Lorusso added a goal apiece and Jake Meira made 12 saves for Martin County.

St. Andrew’s 14, Vero Beach 2: Landon Farrow and Zeke Ceant scored goals and Drew Kane made nine saves for Vero Beach.
