HS sports update: Eau Gallie wins two in St. Patty's tournament

Eau Gallie defeated MCC on Wednesday, 10-7 in the last game of the St. Patty's Tournament as the Commodores hit two home runs in the seventh inning.

Kyle Gruessner hit a two-run shot to break the tie, and Brandon Bragg hit a solo homer for the final margin. Eau Gallie improved to 10-0.

The Hustlers had tied the game with four runs in the bottom of the sixth. They then loaded the bases with two out in the seventh, but the game ended on a fly out.

MCC opened the week with a 15-9 win over Viera on Monday afternoon. The Hustlers scored eight runs in the top of the seventh to come from behind.

Eau Gallie won Tuesday's game, 3-2 over the Hawks. Garrett Smith, with two RBIs, and Michael Brooks, with the other, drove in all the Commodores runs in the bottom of the third. Smith also got the pitching win, striking out seven.
