Vanguard's Allday blanks Wolf Pack

Trace Allday (4-0) pitched a complete-game shutout with eight strikeouts as the Vanguard baseball team knocked off West Port 4-0 on Tuesday night at Vanguard High School.

Brayden Ballard finished with a hit and a walk and drove in two runs for the Knights.

Vanguard (9-3) hosts Inverness Citrus on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Ocala Christian 16, St. John Lutheran 3 (5 innings): At OCA, Joey Alvarado pitched five innings and struck out 10 while surrendering three hits and three walks. Alvarado also had a hit and an RBI.

Chance McCarter finished 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Fabian Ochoa drove in two runs with a hit for the Crusaders.

OCA hosts Bronson on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Forest 12, Lake Weir 2 (5 innings): At Forest, Jordan Perry (1-0) earned the win after going three innings where he surrendered one hit with four strikeouts.

Ty Moody (hit, run scored, RBI), Kyler Rogers (hit, two runs), and Harrison Pesola (hit) led the Wildcats' offense.

Forest (8-5) hosts Lake City Columbia on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Redeemer Christian 19, Palatka Peniel Baptist 9: At St. John Lutheran, Craigee Breach finished 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs.

From the mound, Breach (3-1) struck out 10 over five innings to get the win for the Lions.

Charles Phillips (2-for-4, double, triple, two runs scored, three RBIs), Dom Riddle (3-for-3, four runs scored, walk, RBI), and Asher Greenberg (3-for-4, three runs, walk, RBI) helped power the Redeemer offense. 

Redeemer (4-3) plays at West Port on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Santa Fe 6, North Marion 1: The Colts fell to 7-4 after a loss to the Santa Fe Red Raiders on Tuesday. North Marion will be back in action Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

SOFTBALL

Dunnellon 11, North Marion 1 (5 innings): At Dunnellon, the Tigers were led at the plate by Cameron Darnell (2-for-3, double, two runs scored, two RBIs), Maggie Williams (2-for-4, two runs), and Destiny Bealer (2-for-3, triple, two runs scored, RBI).

Dunnellon's Cortney Desena pitched five innings and had three strikeouts against two hits and one walk.

Shelby Moran (2-for-2, triple, run) paced North Marion at the plate.

Dunnellon (4-8) hosts Vanguard on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

North Marion (4-7) plays Bishop Moore on Friday at 6 p.m. in the Doc4Life tournament at Shocker Park.
