FIRST TEAM
Matheus Alves, F, Monarch junior: Scored 9 goals, and one assist in 9 games played; 3-year varsity player; led the team in scoring in back-to-back seasons and was third leading goal scorer as a freshman on a team that was ranked No. 31 in the country.
Aidan Binnion, D, Fort Lauderdale senior: Team captain and 4-year varsity starter scored 3 goals, 5 assists for the L’s; said proudest moment was making it to regional finals and beating rival St. Thomas Aquinas in district finals; career highlight came as a sophomore when he scored the only goal to take down Raiders in regional finals when they were ranked third in the nation.
Giancarlo Dostillo, MF, Cypress Bay junior: First-year Lightning player led the team with 8 goals and 8 assists, which included a hat trick against St. Thomas Aquinas; most proud of beating Dr. Krop in regional quarterfinals.
Giovanni Garcia, F, Coral Glades senior: Led the Jaguars with 17 goals and 7 assists; played on the varsity for four years; team captain; says he’s being recruited by D1, D2 and D3 colleges; BCAA MVP after scoring lone goal in win.
Noel Garcia, MF, Everglades, junior: Scored nine goals and 2 assist for the Gators; most proud of scoring a goal and an assist to help rally team from 2-0 deficit to beat Somerset; scored only goal in district final.
Gabe Gersberg, D, Stoneman Douglas junior: Tallied 6 goals, and 7 assists for the Eagles; scored in the district finals against Coral Glades to help win the district championship; also participates in Brazilian Martial Arts called Capoeira.
Kevin Lass, GKP, Cypress Bay senior: Sported a 1.375 GAA in his first year on the team; team captain allowed 11 goals in 8 games and posted four shutouts for the regional semifinalist; had game-saving penalty stop to advance to the regional semis in a win over Dr. Krop.
Camilo Prado, F, Fort Lauderdale senior: Scored game-winning goal on a header to help the L’s win the district title; scored 8 goals, 9 assists for the regional finalists; recently invited to tryout and train with the Inter Miami USL 1 Soccer Team.
Marco Schiano, MF, Cypress Bay senior: Team captain scored 5 goals, 5 assists for the Lightning in his first year on the team; proudest moment was scoring goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over rival Western in the district semifinals; attending UF with intentions of becoming a Pre-Med student and will be playing for the intramural soccer team there.
Juan Solarzano, MF, South Broward senior: Scored two goals and four assists in his first season with the Bulldogs; scored once against American Heritage and again in the regional against Dr. Krop.
Fernando Velasco, D, St. Thomas Aquinas senior: Scored one goal and dished out two assists for the Raiders; his goal came against West Boca in double overtime in the regional quarters; his career highlight was scoring on a volley from 20-yards out against Cardinal Gibbons last season.

COACH OF THE YEAR
Christian Chacon, Stoneman Douglas: Led Stoneman Douglas (8-4) to their first district title in four years. The Eagles closed out the season on a 6-game winning streak before they fell to Spanish River in the regional semifinal. “I was most proud of coaching a young group of players eager to play. Working hard ends up paying off. It was a short season with great achievements for the boys.
