Coached the Pirates for two seasons, reaching the state semifinal and the regional final

Port Charlotte High volleyball coach Christine Burkhart stepped down after two seasons at the helm.

Christine Burkhart stepped down as Port Charlotte High volleyball coach.

Burkhart coached the Pirates the past two seasons to a 29-30 mark.

Port Charlotte had success in the postseason, reaching the Final 4 for the third time in program history in 2019 before it lost to Ponte Vedra in the state semifinals. This past season, the Pirates reached the regional final before falling to Tampa Robinson.

It was Burkhart's second stint as varsity coach at Port Charlotte. Burkhart also had the Pirates in the regionals in 2013.
