After six seasons on the sidelines at the John A. Baldwin Athletic Center, Bishop Kenny's Charlsea Clark is moving on to a new challenge.

The Crusaders' girls basketball coach is stepping down to pursue a coaching job in college basketball, the school athletic department announced Wednesday evening.

Clark confirmed the move but declined to specify her next destination.

In a statement posted to social media Thursday, she called coaching at Bishop Kenny "one of the greatest joys of my life."

"Leaving this program and these players is one of the toughest decisions I've ever had to make — but I feel incredibly grateful for all we have accomplished together," she said.

Clark compiled a career record of 112-62 with Bishop Kenny, including three consecutive trips to the Florida High School Athletic Association final four with a lineup built around Miami signee Jasmyne Roberts and University of North Florida commit Maddie Millar.

The Crusaders qualified for the state title game in 2019 and 2020, and qualified to the final four in 2021 before a narrow loss to top-ranked Orlando Lake Highland Prep.

Under Clark, Bishop Kenny achieved its deepest playoff runs in girls basketball since 1990-92, when the Crusaders won three consecutive FHSAA titles while directed by current principal Todd Orlando.

She received the Florida Athletic Coaches Association Class 4A coach of the year award earlier this month. Clark graduated from Menendez in 2008 and was a three-year captain for Flagler College women's basketball.

The school has not announced a successor for the position.
