High School Football Results from October 20

South Pittsburg Senior quarterback Kamden Wellington continues his great play as he was involved 280 yards of his team’s 342 total yards on Friday night as the Pirates blew away Sale Creek 44-0. Wellington had 2 TD passes and rushed for 2 more scores.

AJ Wallace caught four passes for 75 yards and a touchdown, and Racash Kelly had four catches for 74 yards.

The #1 Class 1A Pirates (9-0, 4-0) will host Whitwell (7-2/4-0) for the region championship on Thursday night.

The Marion County Warriors used five running backs that had at least 40 yards each, led by E.J. Wilson’s 85, as the guys from Jasper remained unbeaten by defeating Cannon County 42-7 on Friday night.

Marion County, #2 in Class 2A (9-0, 3-0) will be looking to wrap up the Region 4-2A regular season championship when they host Cascade (5-4, 2-1). Listen to the Warriors game this week on The River 104.9.

 

In a game that most thought would not be close came down to the wire.

The Whitwell Tigers had all they could handle from Chattanooga Prep. The Tigers had to come from behind to pull out a region win over the Sentinels, 29-26. Whitwell trailed at halftime 20-14.

Bennett McDougal had 139 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Tigers. Therion Mordecai and Brandon Easterly also added TD runs. Easterly had a touchdown pass to Wyatt Davis.

It was only 7-0 at halftime and just 13-0 after three quarters, but the Sequatchie County Indians roared past Grundy County in the fourth for a 34-0 region win on Friday.

With the win, Sequatchie County improved to 6-3 overall and 3-0 in region play. The Yellowjackets fell to 4-5 and 1-3.

The Indians travel to Giles County on Friday, and they are guaranteed a playoff berth. Hear the Indians broadcast on Country Roads 93.3.

Grundy County has also earned a playoff bid and will host Pickett County in a non-region matchup on October 27.

 

On Friday night the Bledsoe County Warriors picked up a win over Gordonsville, 21-14. Bledsoe County is 7-2 overall and 3-1 in region play. The Warriors  will host Oneida  the is their filnal regular season game before heading into the TSSAA playoffs.

 

The North Jackson Chiefs (3-5) defeated Madison County 38-20. The Chiefs travel to Grant, AL to take on Kate Duncan Smith DAR (0-9).

 

North Sand Mountain (5-3) defeated Section (2-7) 51-7. They travel to Collinsville this Friday night.
