It took a six-run fifth inning and an impressive outing on the mound to lift ETSU baseball over Miami (OH) in the first game of the Bucs' final regular season series.

The Bucs totaled 10 hits in the 9-3 win to improve to 33-17 on the 2024 campaign. The Bucs would blow the game open with the six-run fifth inning as Cam Sisneros began the fifth with a double and he would score on a single from Blake Jacklin to make the score 3-1 ETSU. Noah Gent would then plate Jacklin with a double to grow the ETSU advantage to three, 4-1 before Jamie Palmese hit his first collegiate grand slam, his third home run of the season, to stake the Bucs to an 8-1 lead.

On the mound, Carter Fink earned his sixth win on the mound after allowing just one earned run and five hits. Then relievers Derek McCarley, Cason Engert and Kenny Keller all tossed scoreless innings to help seal the win.

The Bucs and Redhawks will resume their series Friday morning. First pitch for game two is set for 11 a.m.
