Rural's Zordel earns prep All-America honor

Taylor Zordel, who recently completed her junior softball season at Washburn Rural, has been named a third-team National Fast-Pitch Coaches Association All-American.

A shortstop, Zordel was named to the South Central Region first team while Junior Blues pitcher Maggie Holmberg, second baseman Kelsey Lewis and center fielder Alyssa Carney were all second-team all-region picks. Holmberg and Lewis were recent Rural graduates while Carney will be a sophomore this coming school year.

The South Central Region also includes players from Oklahoma, Texas, Kentucky, Nebraska and Iowa.
