01/30 - 5:30 PM Wrestling Final Chelsea 68 Ann Arbor Huron 11
Chelsea's Avery Osentoski pinned Ann Arbor Huron's Teakjun Lee at 2:29 at 145 pounds to claim his 100th career win.
Tristan Koch (103), Parker Day (119), Jacob Grob (125), Travis Nichols (140) all recorded pins for Chelsea, Dan Wisniewski (152) defeated Cyrus Tidwell 15-13, and Steve Bleise (135) defeated Naseeb Souwidane 15-0.
Huron’s Jeremy Philips (160) recorded a pin and Abbihakien Jeylani (112) defeated Abe Cone 19-4.
"In order to achieve 100 wins, you have to start as a freshman," Chelsea coach Kerry Kargel said. "The average person will get 25-30 wins a year, so starting as a freshman he was able to capture his 100th win. He knew what was at stake, and he had some extra incentive tonight to win."
Ann Arbor Huron coach JeBree Harris noted his team’s youth.
“We have a very young lineup,” Harris said. “These Chelsea guys have been wrestling for a very long time, and they’re a well-coached team. We fought really hard tonight, and I’m proud of my guys. I have a core group of guys coming back next year and some juniors who will be coming in as well. We have some room to grow and we’re looking for great things in the future.”
