North St. Paul softball coach Sean Hall is leaving his position to take the same job at Lakeville North.

Hall said Monday that he looks forward to coaching in the South Suburban Conference, a conference he said is the toughest in Minnesota.

“The chance to not only coach in the toughest conference in the state, but also the toughest section is the ultimate challenge,” Hall said. “I look forward to the challenge of helping build not only the high school program (at Lakeville North) but also helping with the feeder programs.”

From 2003-11, Hall led the Polars to a 198-43 record and seven state tournament appearances. The Polars were the Class AAA champion in 2007 and were the big-school runners-up in 2004, ’09 and ’10.

Before taking over the North St. Paul program, Hall coached St. Bernard’s for two seasons, leading the Bulldogs to a combined 33-15 record and a Class A championship in 2002.

“I will never forget all the wonderful memories I’ve had at North St. Paul,” Hall said. “I’ve been blessed to have coached so many wonderful young ladies and have had the opportunity to coach with some of the best coaches in the state.”

Hall’s hiring still needs to be approved by the District 194 school board.
