2 Carl Junction players named to all-state volleyball team

Carl Junction has landed two players on the Class 3 all-state second team selected by the Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches Association.

They are senior Katie Eichelberger and junior Hope Joyner. Coach Sarah Wall’s Big 8 Conference Bulldogs finished 28-8-2 overall in reaching the quarterfinals in the MSHSAA playoffs.

Mount Vernon’s Danielle Goodman and Nevada’s Marissa Hughes, both seniors, are honorable mention selections in Class 3.

Those honored in Class 2 include Pierce City seniors Megan Golubski (second team) and Kaelyn Osborn (honorable mention).

Liberal, like Pierce City a member of the Spring River Valley Conference, placed third in the Class 1 Tournament at Cape Girardeau. Russ Cramer’s Bulldogs have a first-teamer in Kaycia Fry and a second-teamer in fellow senior Kori Dodson.

Class 4 Ozark has Meghan Stacy on the first elite and Bridget Justis and Jackie Fugate on the honorable mention list.
