FEATS OF THE WEEK: Fourth-ranked Chicago, Young beat regionally-ranked Morgan Park, 60-56, to capture its first Chicago Public League title since 1998. Standout junior forward Jahlil Okafor led the Dolphins with 19 points, 14 rebounds, and seven blocks. Morgan Park was in the championship game thanks to a 54-53 overtime win against No. 5 Simeon in the semifinals. It was Simeon's first loss to a CPL opponent since Feb. 2011. ... Senior forward Sindarius Thornwell (South Carolina) notched a triple-double consisting of 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists for No. 23 Mouth of Wilson, Va., Oak Hill in a 103-42 rout of Lynchburg, Genesis Academy. ... Senior forward De'Runnya Wilson (a Mississippi St. football recruit) had 23 points and 10 rebounds and junior point guard Justin Coleman had a triple-double with 15 points, 11 assists, and 10 steals as regionally-ranked Birmingham, Ala., Wenonah overwhelmed Jasper, Walker, 128-43. ... Isaac Hamilton –- who was named to the McDonald's All-American team earlier in the week –- scored 35 points as regionally-ranked Bellflower, Calif., St. John Bosco steamrolled Ridgecrest, Burroughs, 91-46. Hamilton, a senior guard who has signed with UTEP, made eight three-pointers in the game. ... Senior guard Tucker Haymond (W. Michigan) had 39 points for regionally-ranked Seattle, Garfield in a 93-69 blowout of Washington No. 2-ranked Bothell.
