FEATS OF THE WEEK: Shreveport, La., Evangel, No. 1-ranked since preseason, won its fourth straight state title -- and sixth the last seven years -- by halting the three-year Class 5A title run of West Monroe, 20-14, in the finals at the Superdome. Evangel, coached by Dennis Dunn, moved up to the largest class after winning the last three crowns (and five overall) in Class 3A. On the field, the Eagles have four straight 15-0 record seasons and are 120-17 since starting a football program in 1989. Shreveport, which ranked No. 3 in 1998, opened the season by handing No. 15 ranked River Ridge John Curtis, who won a fourth straight state Class 4A crown, its only loss, 28-20. Evangel was led by All-America quarterback Brock Berlin, a University of Florida recruit . . .
