The National Prep Football Poll is compiled by high school sports experts Jamie DeMoney and Jeremy Plowman and a panel of sportswriters. The national Top 25 and regional Top 10's follow with won-loss-tie records.

The National Prep Poll has been compiled weekly since 1987 and are the only national high school rankings distributed on the Associated Press national wire service.

FEATS OF THE WEEK: Mike Kanellis of Sparks, Nev., Spanish Springs rushed for a state-record 537 yards on 33 carries and scored five touchdowns in a 56-37 win over South Lake Tahoe, Calif. . . . Fort Dodge, Iowa, St. Edmond whipped Cherokee, 45-7, to give coach Dick Tighe his state-record-tying 339th coaching win. Tighe, 74, has coached 44 seasons but has yet to bolster his record with a state championship . . . J.R. Hasty led No. 8 Bellevue, Wash., to a 58-7 drubbing of Issaquah with 329 rushing yards and six touchdowns. Hasty, son of former NFL All-Pro James Hasty, has 34 touchdowns this season, breaking a King County record . . . In the 112th meeting of Ohio's two winningest programs, Canton, McKinley stymied rival Massillon, Washington, 20-7, before 14,903 fans at Massillon's Paul Brown Stadium. Massillon and McKinley rank second and third nationally in all-time wins. (Valdosta, Ga., ranks first nationally all-time.) . . . Chad Kackert of Simi Valley, Calif., Grace Brethren rushed for 428 yards and six touchdowns as his team crushed Whittier Christian, 60-16. Grace Brethren tallied 609 rushing yards as a team in the game.
