The National Prep Football Poll is compiled by high school sports experts Jamie DeMoney and Jeremy Plowman and a panel of sportswriters. The national Top 25 and regional Top 10's follow with won-loss-tie records.

The National Prep Poll has been compiled weekly since 1987 and are the only national high school rankings distributed on the Associated Press national wire service.

FEATS OF THE WEEK: Georgia's Class AAAAA playoffs opened with Suwanee, Collins Hill outlasting Austell, South Cobb, 70-68, in seven overtimes. The teams combined for 18 touchdowns and more than 1,000 yards of offense . . . Brent Gulledge of Bessemer, Ala., Victory Christian tossed a state-record nine touchdown passes in a 70-6 drubbing of Camp Hill, Lyman Ward Military . . . No. 25 New Rochelle, N.Y., becomes the first Empire State team to enter the Top 25 since 1995 (Jamestown). Led by Syracuse recruit RB Ray Rice, the Huguenots crushed Mount Vernon, 46-0, for their 22nd consecutive win. It is their second straight section title in defense of last year's Class AA state championship . . . Regionally ranked Long Beach, Calif., Poly stopped then-regionally ranked Lakewood, 22-9. The Jackrabbits' 54th consecutive league win clinched their 13th straight league title . . . Rock Hill, S.C., Northwestern entered the national poll at No. 24 after defeating its crosstown rival, then-No. 23 Rock Hill, 14-9. More than 13,000 fans watched as the Trojans sealed the win with a goal-line stand in the closing minutes.
