The National Prep Football Poll is compiled by high school sports experts Jamie DeMoney and Jeremy Plowman and a panel of sportswriters. The national Top 25 and regional Top 10's follow with won-loss-tie records.

The National Prep Poll has been compiled weekly since 1987 and are the only national high school rankings distributed on the Associated Press national wire service.

FEATS OF THE WEEK: Third-ranked Charlotte, N.C., Independence now owns the second-longest winning streak in prep football history at 73. The University of Georgia-bound pass-catch duo of Joe Cox and Mohamed Massaquoi burned Kernersville, East Forsyth for five touchdowns in a 60-14 opening-round Class 4AA playoff rout. The Patriots' win streak, which began in 2000, is now one game better than the 72-win streak compiled by Hudson, Mich., from 1968-75. Concord, Calif., De La Salle had the longest streak, 151 consecutive wins from 1992-2003 . . . State champions were crowned in North Dakota, South Dakota and Vermont. At the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, N.D., Cavalier whipped Lisbon, 36-12, to claim its third consecutive Class AA title and its third straight 12-0 season . . . At the DakotaDome in Vermillion, S.D., Sioux Falls, O'Gorman held off Sioux Falls, Roosevelt, 14-7, to cap a 13-0 season and win its seventh Class 11AA title since 1993 . . . On the campus of Mount St. Joseph's Academy in Rutland, hometown Rutland High stopped Middlebury, 27-12, to claim its fourth Division I title in the last five years.
