National Prep Football Poll - Week 16

The National Prep Football Poll is compiled by high school sports experts Jamie DeMoney and Jeremy Plowman and a panel of sportswriters. The national Top 25 and regional Top 10's follow with won-loss-tie records.

The National Prep Poll has been compiled weekly since 1987 and are the only national high school rankings distributed on the Associated Press national wire service.

FEATS OF THE WEEK: The nation's second-longest active winning streak ended at 66 when Smith Center, Kan., upset Pittsburg, St. Mary's-Colgan, 36-14, in the 2A state championship game. No. 4 Charlotte, N.C., Independence maintains the longest current streak at 75 games without a loss . . . Catawissa, Pa., Southern Columbia rushed for a national-record 768 yards in a wild 76-47 Class A state quarterfinal win over Bangor, Pius X. Henry Hynoski led the way individually for the Tigers with 409 yards on 27 carries . . . Also in the Keystone State, LeSean McCoy rushed for 352 yards and seven touchdowns in regionally ranked Harrisburg, McDevitt's 48-28 Class AAAA state quarterfinal win over Carlisle. The junior now has 1,097 yards and 15 touchdowns in three playoff games . . . Senior Spencer Farley rushed for his 51st touchdown of the season (a new state record) to lead regionally ranked Morgantown, W. Va., to a 38-14 Class AAA state semifinals rout of Belle, Riverside . . . The oldest current rivalry in prep football was played for the 143rd time on Thanksgiving Day between New London, Conn., and Norwich, Free Academy. New London was victorious, 20-14, for its first win in the series since 1996. NFA still leads the series all-time 73-59-11.
