    FEATS OF THE WEEK: In the Washington Class 4A state quarterfinals, Bothell defeated Pasco, 43-40, in nine overtimes. The nine extra sessions, in which both teams get one offensive possession from the opponent's 25-yard line for the first three overtimes and from the 10-yard line after that, tied a national record for most overtimes, according to the National High School Sports Record Book. The game was tied 14-14 at the end of regulation. Neither team scored in three of the overtime possessions . . . Senior running back Foswhitt Whittaker of Pearland, Texas, rushed for 361 yards and five touchdowns in a 47-22 playoff win against Sugar Land, Dulles. The University of Texas commit became just the 11th Class 5A player in state history to surpass 5,000 yards in his career, according to the Houston Chronicle . . . Junior running back Darrell Scott of Moorpark, Calif., had 308 rushing yards on 16 carries with six touchdowns in a 51-21 playoff win against Camarillo . . . Junior quarterback Brock Fitzhenry of Giddings, Texas, ran 18 times for 382 yards and six touchdowns in a 62-14 playoff rout of Wharton . . . At Navy Stadium in Annapolis, Md., No. 10 Hyattsville, Md., DeMatha beat Wheaton, Good Counsel 20-14 in overtime. The school earned its seventh Washington Catholic Athletic Conference title in nine seasons. It was the third straight year that DeMatha beat Good Counsel in the WCAC final by 1 point or in overtime.
