FEATS OF THE WEEK: Kelvin Taylor, son of former NFL All-Pro Fred Taylor, ran for 248 yards and five touchdowns to lead Belle Glade, Glades Day past South Daytona, Warner Christian, 42-35, in the Florida 1B championship game. Taylor, a sophomore, has already tied the state record with 110 career touchdowns. On the down side, Taylor was ejected from the game after being penalized for two post-touchdown unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. ... In the Florida 2A final, regionally ranked Cocoa extended the nation's fifth-longest win streak to 38 games. The Tigers edged Belle Glade, Glades Central, 14-13. ... According to the Philadelphia Daily News, junior quarterback Brendan Nosovitch accounted for 602 total yards - 419 passing and 183 rushing - with seven touchdowns in regionally ranked Allentown, Pa., Central Catholic's 49-27 Class 3A state semifinal win over Warminster, Archbishop Wood. ... No. 10 Hampton, Phoebus capped a dominant three-year run in Virginia with a convincing 36-17 win over then-No. 23 Ashburn, Stone Bridge in the Division 5 championship. It was the Phantoms' third consecutive title and their 45th straight victory, giving them the nation's second-longest active streak. Mount Ulla, N.C., West Rowan - which routed Mebane, Eastern Alamance for its third straight 3A championship - owns the longest current streak (46 games).
