FEATS OF THE WEEK: Freshman Tucker Israel of Orlando, Fla., Lake Nona threw 10 touchdown passes in his team’s 68-10 rout of Celebration. It tied the single-game national record for 11-man football, according to the National High School Sports Record Book. ... The national record for touchdown catches in a game was tied by Robbie Rhodes of Fort Worth, Texas, Southwest, who had eight in a 66-21 win over Fort Worth, Arlington Heights. The junior also had a state-record 394 receiving yards. ... In an eight-man game, junior Zach Howell of Bel Aire, Kan., Sunrise Christian threw for 627 yards in a 78-58 loss to St. Marys, St. Mary’s Academy, according to MaxPreps.com. His total smashed the single-game eight-man record listed in the National High School Sports Record Book. ... According to ArkansasOnline.com, senior Neal Burcham of Greenbrier tied an Arkansas single-game record with eight touchdown passes in a 62-35 win over Siloam Springs. ... The Nashville Tennessean reports senior Jacob Tucker of Linden, Perry County broke the Tennessee career touchdown record in a 40-0 rout of Mount Pleasant. Tucker had five touchdowns in the game, giving him 130 for his career. He also holds the state’s career record for total yardage ... According to the Los Angeles Times, Big Bear City, Big Bear beat Desert Hot Springs, 56-50, in a state-record eight overtimes.
