The National Prep Basketball Poll is compiled by high school sports experts Jamie DeMoney and Jeremy Plowman and a panel of sportswriters. The national Top 25 and regional Top 10's follow with last year's won-loss-tie records:

FEATS OF THE WEEK: More than half the national Top 25 teams participated in holiday tournaments and events across the country. Over 4,000 fans at Campbell Center in Houston and a national television audience on ESPNU watched No. 2 Mouth of Wilson, Va., Oak Hill win the Academy National Invitational for the third time since 2001. The Warriors blitzed No. 9 Los Angeles, Fairfax, 75-48, in the final and whipped No. 11 Marietta, Ga., Wheeler, 76-56, in the semifinals. Oak Hill's point guard Tywon Lawson, a North Carolina recruit, averaged a tournament-best 20.5 points per game . . . No. 4 Hyattsville, Md., DeMatha won the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C., for the fourth time. The Stags outgunned regionally ranked Memphis, Tenn., Mitchell, 89-67, in the championship game. Virginia Tech-bound point guard Nigel Munson was named tournament MVP . . . Senior guard Jon Scheyer of No. 13 Northbrook, Ill., Glenbrook North set single-game and overall tournament scoring records in the Proviso West Holiday Tournament in Hillside, Ill. The Duke recruit scored 52 points in an 85-79 upset loss to host Proviso West. It included an amazing 21 points in a span of 1:15 to spark a furious late-game attempted comeback.
