FEATS OF THE WEEK: There were four head-to-head matchups of Top 15 teams, resulting in another shakeup at the top of the national rankings. Mouth of Wilson, Va., Oak Hill is back at No. 1, where it spent the first eight weeks of the season. The Warriors defeated No. 7 Santa Ana, Calif., Mater Dei, 77-74, in the HoopHall Classic at Duke University and pounded regionally ranked Los Angeles, Fairfax, 70-54, at the Nike Extravaganza in Santa Ana, Calif. Senior guard Nolan Smith (Duke) averaged 21 points for the week. Oak Hill is 4-1 against Top 25 teams . . . Huntington, W.Va.'s. two-week stint at No. 1 ended with a 72-68 loss Friday at No. 23 Georgetown, Ky., Scott County. Earlier in the week, the Highlanders defeated No. 7 Lakewood, Calif., Artesia, 73-66, in the HoopHall Classic at Duke. Due to an injunction being filed on his behalf, Huntington star guard O.J. Mayo (Southern Cal) was able to play in both games despite receiving a two-game suspension for being ejected from a game on Jan. 27. Mayo averaged 23 points for the week . . . In an ESPN2-televised game, Eric Gordon of regionally ranked Indianapolis, North Central erupted for 43 points in an 88-47 rout of then-regionally ranked Wilmette, Ill., Loyola. Gordon, nicknamed "Air Gordon," played the game in front of a capacity home crowd that included NBA legend Michael Jordan, who has two sons playing for Loyola.
