National Prep Basketball Poll - Week 13

URBANDALE, Iowa -- Rosters for the 33rd McDonald's All-American game were announced last week. Of the 24 players selected, 13 play for one of the 70 nationally and regionally teams in the Week 13 National Prep Basketball poll released Monday morning.

This year's McDonald's All-American game will be played March 31 in Columbus, Ohio. It's home turf for honoree Jared Sullinger, a 6-foot-9 Ohio State recruit whose Columbus Northland squad is No. 1 in the country for ninth consecutive week.

No. 2 Findlay (Henderson, Nev.) is the only team in the nation with two players in this year's game. Uncommitted guard Cory Joseph and Texas-bound forward Tristan Thompson play for the defending Prep Poll champion Pilots.

Rounding out the list of McDonald's All-Americans who play for Top 25 teams are Harrison Barnes of No. 9 Ames (Iowa); Kyrie Irving (No. 10 Elizabeth, N.J., St. Patrick); Doron Lamb (No. 12 Mouth of Wilson, Va., Oak Hill); Patric Young (No. 19 Jacksonville, Fla., Providence)l Tobias Harris (No. 24 Dix Hills, N.Y., Half Hollow Hills West); and Ray McCallum Jr (No. 25 Beverly Hills, Mich., Detroit Country Day).

FEATS OF THE WEEK: A tumultuous week for No. 10 Elizabeth, N.J., St. Patrick ended with a 74-56 blowout of then-regionally ranked New York, Rice, Saturday at the PrimeTime Shootout in Trenton, N.J. Senior guard Kyrie Irving (Duke) scored 21 points and junior standout Michael Gilchrist added 20 for the Celtics, who have been banned from the postseason because of unauthorized workouts before the season started. In addition, St. Patrick suffered its third one-point defeat of the year against a Top 15 team, losing 79-78 to No. 12 Mouth of Wilson, Va., Oak Hill . . . It was also an up-and-down week for Oak Hill. On Saturday at the PrimeTime Shootout, senior guard Doron Lamb (uncommitted) scored 49 points but it wasn't enough to avoid an 84-81 upset by regionally ranked Jersey City, N.J., St. Peter's . . . The 33rd McDonald's All-American team was announced Thursday, featuring 24 of the nation's top recruits. Two honorees celebrated the news by turning in 40-point efforts. Regionally ranked Detroit, Pershing guard Keith Appling (Michigan St.) scored 40 as his team beat King, 74-58, in the Detroit Public School League semifinals. Meanwhile, forward Reggie Bullock (North Carolina) had 40 to lead regionally ranked Kinston, N.C., to a 71-45 rout of Bethel, North Pitt.
