It was their sixth win against teams that have been nationally or regionally ranked this season. Kentucky-bound forward Michael Gilchrist led St. Patrick with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Winter Park guard Austin Rivers (Duke) scored 38. ... St. Patrick's rise to No. 1 was made possible in part to then-top-ranked Mouth of Wilson, Va., Oak Hill's 75-69 loss to No. 4 Alpharetta, Ga., Milton at the Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass. Guard Shannon Scott (Ohio St.) led the Eagles with 22 points. Milton was the preseason No. 1 team but lost to No. 1 St. Patrick and No. 2 Lithonia, Ga., Miller Grove last month. ... In other Hoophall action, three-time Prep Poll champion Jersey City, N.J., St. Anthony jumped to No. 3 in the rankings after annihilating then-No. 16 Hyattsville, Md., DeMatha, 75-25. Guard Myles Mack scored a game-high 28 points and the Friars' pressure defense forced 25 DeMatha turnovers. ... Oviedo, Fla., picked up wins over Longwood, Lyman and Altamonte Springs, Lake Brantley, improving coach Ed Kershner's 40-year record to 763-329.
