FEATS OF THE WEEK: What was the nation’s longest active winning streak came to an end when regionally ranked Wichita, Kan., Heights was upset by city rival East, 57-51. Senior forward Perry Ellis (signed with Kansas) had 30 points and 13 rebounds in a losing effort. The Falcons lost again two nights later to Wichita, North. Junior Conner Frankamp (Kansas) scored 38 to lead the 47-38 upset. Heights had won 62 straight games dating back to the 2009-10 season. No. 3 Jersey City, N.J., St. Anthony now has the longest unbeaten mark with 59 straight wins beginning with its National Prep Poll championship 2010-11 season. ... No. 12 Las Vegas, Bishop Gorman won its sixth Class 4A title in 13 seasons with a 96-51 rout of Reno, Hug. McDonald’s All-American Shabazz Muhammad (uncommitted) scored 30 of his game-high 36 points in the first half. ... Tempe, Ariz., Corona Del Sol entered the regional rankings after beating Laveen, Chavez, 66-53, for the Division I state title. Standout sophomore guard Casey Benson scored 22 points. ... Anders Broman of Duluth, Minn., Lakeview Christian exploded for 71 points but his team lost to Melrose, 114-110. Broman, a junior guard, is averaging over 45 points per game this season and has more than 3,000 points in his career. ... Rodney Purvis (NC State) scored 53 points to lead Raleigh, N.C., Upper Room to a 105-75 blowout of Body of Christ.
