The Rhodes Women's Soccer team fell to #12 Washington University in St. Louis in non-conference action today 3-0.
The Lynx came out of the gate firing in an action packed end to end first half. Wash U found their breakthrough in the 36th minute when Lauren Steimle headed in the goal. The Lynx tried to battle back in the first half, but were unable to find the equalizer in the first half.
The 2nd half proved to be more of the same as the game was an entertaining affair. Wash U found their insurance goal in the 66th minute when Kate Doyle headed in a free kick from Emily Gosche. The final goal of the game came with 5 seconds left on the clock when Nicole Martin converted her penalty kick.
The Bears led the Lynx in shots (24-3) and corners (6-2).
Allison Cowling made 8 saves in the loss for the Lynx, while Clara Jaques made 1 for the Bears.
The Lynx return to action tomorrow as the host central region foe Elmhurst College at 1 pm.
