Former UT recruit Camron Justice commits to Vanderbilt

Knott County Central All-State guard Camron Justice, a top candidate for 2015 Mr. Basketball honors, committed to Vanderbilt on Sunday night.

The 6-foot-3 Justice, an exceptional shooter and perimeter scorer, made his decision after an unofficial visit to Vanderbilt over the weekend. He told The Courier-Journal last month that the Commodores were leading in his recruitment.

Vandy has been well-positioned with Justice ever since he withdrew a commitment to Tennessee earlier this season. He'd pledged to the Volunteers last fall, but after reopening his recruitment, he immediately began to consider Vandy's style of play as a better fit for his strengths, including shooting off screens.

Justice made The Courier-Journal's All-State first team for the second straight year on Sunday.

He averaged 24.8 points this year in helping Knott to its third consecutive state tournament.

Justice has also been recruited by Western Kentucky, Notre Dame, Butler, Indiana, UAB and Wake Forest. Indiana had planned to see him this month. Louisville expressed interest last summer.

Justice, who can sign a national letter of intent in November, will begin his travel-club season with the Kentucky Travelers this weekend in the Nike EYBL in Sacramento, Calif. - the first live evaluation period of the year.
