GoVols247: Tennessee Vols football is No. 3 in recruiting rankings, No. 1 in SEC

Tennessee moved into a top-three spot in the 247Sports team rankings for the 2018 class on Thursday thanks to the commitment of junior college defensive end Dorian Gerald and LSU losing one of its top-rated commitments.

With the verbal pledge of the 6-foot-3, 260-pounder from the College of the Canyons, the Vols initially remained No. 4 nationally, but the Tigers losing Adam Anderson later Thursday meant Tennessee moved ahead of LSU into the No. 3 spot in the rankings, which are based on the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
