Under a new regime inside the confines of William B. Greene Stadium at ETSU, it comes with a new set of expectations and a different culture.

Within that structure comes new faces and relationships for the entire Bucs football program to mold as they make their way onto the field in the fall of 2024 - and with the spring coming to a near close, that new era is beginning to form.

While much of the team is built from transfers and newcomers, there are a couple faces like tight end Cameron Lewis, who is in the midst of his second act in the Blue & Gold.

"I originally signed here with Randy Sanders in 2018," said Lewis. "Then left Covid and returned two years ago. I love it here."

Lewis came to ETSU out of high school, recruited by Randy Sanders and company when ETSU football was at its peak. After Sanders' departure, Lewis spent two years at Winston-Salem State before coming back to ETSU. After not suiting up all throughout the 2023 campaign, Lewis has now made a final entrance with the goal of making a big impact for a school he loves.

"There's nothing like being a Buc, ya know. I came here and left, and there was a reason why I came back," added Lewis. "I think it was meant to be. We have some special things to do this season."

As for Lewis' contributions in the spring session, he is one of many athletes that the Bucs coaching staff is trying to get the ball to and become a playmaker in a fast paced system.

"One of the things we evaluate is who is touching the ball. We do that pretty much every day," said head coach, Tre Lamb. "One of the points of emphasis after the last scrimmage was, 0 didn't get any touches. He got two targets, but 0 had no touches. If he's going to be one of our better players, we gotta get the kid the ball."

Lewis and company will look to showcase the work they've done with the Blue & Gold game that will take center stage on Friday night at 7 pm - a chance for the Bucs faithful to get their first glimpse of what may be coming in the fall and the future of ETSU football.
