ETSU Softball had set up the rubber match with the chance to go back to back with SoCon series wins as they hosted Samford on Sunday.

Both teams were able to put a runner on in the first, but nothing came of it as the teams rolled on.

Scoreless until the fifth, Samford would add a pair off of a single, and build on it in the sixth with a sac-fly to score another.

Trailing 3-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh, the Bucs went to work. A one out double from Halle Laramie followed by a two out single from Brylee Mesusan put two on with two outs.

Cameron Young continued to prove her worth this weekend with an RBI-single to make it a two score game. Unfortunately the comeback would fall short on a fielders choice to end the game.

ETSU falls with a final score of 3-1 to drop the series to Samford.
