MS Roundup: Ellis sweeps Hawkins
Cougar squads open round-robin play with victories over nearby rivals
HENDERSONVILLE Ellis Middle’s basketball teams won their first game of Sumner County Conference round robin play on Monday evening with victories over neighborhood rival Hawkins.
Ellis’ boys defeated Hawkins 26-19, while the Lady Cougars collected a 36-22 victory over Hawkins.
The games were played at Hendersonville High School, which will also be the case when the two teams face off again on Dec. 19.
Games 3-11 count toward seeding for the conference tournament.
