The current post-season basketball seating requirements set by the TSSAA Board of Control was discussed in detail during our fall Administrators’ Meetings in August. Each administrator in attendance was given an opportunity to express their opinion. Schools were also informed that a survey had been placed on our TSSAA website. Each school was asked to complete the survey, which contained questions concerning each school’s seating capacity. The survey also asked administrators for their opinion for change in the requirement. The staff will provide Board members with information that was submitted by our member schools’ administrators.

Information will be presented regarding the job description and proposed timeline to accept applications for the vacated Assistant Executive Director’s position if approved by the Board.

Tennis regulations state that each district shall determine a team champion by any method the district members choose. The district champion shall qualify for the regional tournament. Each regional team shall be comprised of five singles and two doubles. Wilson Central High School proposes to allow two teams to advance from each district.

In addition, George Quarles, Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at Maryville High School, has asked Mr. David Ellis, an assistant coach at Maryville, to serve as coach in the East squad during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas in January of 2010.

A request for permission that schools involved in the football playoffs be allowed to have those games video-streamed. The schools involved would be required to pay a fee to video-stream those games.
