Lady Bucs Top Lane 80-62

Taylor Pugh grabbed a school-record 19 rebounds to go with seven points in the Lady Bucs' 80-62 win over Lane Monday night.
Box Score MEMPHIS-Junior forward Taylor Pugh (Memphis, Tenn., Briarcrest Christian HS) grabbed a school-record 19 rebounds as the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs won 80-62 over Lane Monday night in their final non-conference game of the season.

The Lady Bucs (14-11) never trailed, taking full control early on a 19-0 run capped by an Erin Wilson (Memphis, Tenn./Overton HS) jumper that gave them a 23-4 lead with 11:40 remaining in the first half. The Lady Dragons (2-20) never came closer than 10 points again.

Breanna Ridgell (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) scored 23 points to lead the Lady Bucs' offense, while Ashley Schaefer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore HS) set a career-high for the second time in three days with 21 points, eclipsing her previous high mark of 17 Saturday at North Alabama. Samantha Reeves (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) scored 14, while Emily Reeves (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) dished out a career-high nine assists with three steals. Pugh added seven points to her school-record 19 rebounds, breaking the previous record of 17 set by the late Jackie Moore Feb. 7, 2005 at Ouachita Baptist.

Tiffany Martin paced the Lady Dragons with 23 points. Ciera White scored 11, and Niya Royal added 10.

The Lady Bucs shot 47.6 percent (30-of-63) from the floor while holding Lane to 30.3 percent (20-of-66). CBU out-rebounded Lane 49-36 but committed 19 turnovers to the Lady Dragons' 15.

The Lady Bucs wrap up the regular season with two GSC home games this week. They host West Florida Thursday night at 5 p.m. before hosting Valdosta State Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
