Christian Amos-led Soddy-Daisy Trojans win 12-2, move on

McMINNVILLE, Tenn. - Christian Amos had a day to remember as the Soddy-Daisy Trojans went on the road and recorded an impressive 12-2 victory over Warren County in the Region 3-AAA baseball tournament Monday. Amos (8-0) tossed a complete-game three-hitter against the Pioneers and was 4-for-4 at the plate.

Caden Ricketts homered and doubled for the Trojans (21-16), who will travel to Cookeville on Wednesday. Dev DeMatteo and Tre Carter each drove in three runs, Carter with a bases-clearing triple.

• Cookeville 5, Bradley Central 0: At Cleveland in Region 3-AAA, the Bears' season came to an abrupt end as Cookeville's C.J. Cook stopped them on a pair of singles. Logan Blackwell and Hunter Rogers had the Bradley hits, while pitcher Ty King lost for the first time all season in the season finale.

• Sequoyah 7, Central 0: At Madisonville in Region 3-AA, Blue Johnson was more colorful than the Purple Pounders, shutting them out on one hit through six innings. Tanner Moser had a double among his three hits, and he drove in a pair of runs. Central's season ended at 18-19.

• Central Magnet 9, Grundy County 1: At Murfreesboro in Region 4-AA, the Yellow Jackets' season came to a crashing halt but with a 21-10 record.

• South Pittsburg 4, Silverdale Baptist 3: At South Pittsburg in Region 3-A, the Pirates (24-10) advanced to face Boyd-Buchanan in the championship game. The Seahawks ended their season at 15-10.
