BA has high hopes in football

Brentwood Academy has high hopes after going 8-4, including a Division II-AA semifinal appearance last year.

“A lot of it is just getting back in the groove,” BA coach Cody White said. “The last three weeks we’ve been able to put in a lot of stuff in shells. Now, when you put pads on you get to see the kids who are going to be physical and what the weight room has done over the course of the year. We’ve got some new, young, receivers so we’re going to kind of see where they’re going to fit.”

White said the Eagles tweaked the offense and defense, but didn’t make any big changes. There are 89 players on the roster.

“We have some non-negotiables in our program,” White said. “We’re going to work extremely hard, we’re not going to beat ourselves, those kind of things. It’s just a re-emphasis on that, really.”
