Presentations on concussion training, domestic violence, recruiting and engaging with athletes will be conducted. Speakers will include Belmont baseball coach Dave Jarvis, TSU men’s basketball coach Dana Ford, Vanderbilt women’s basketball coach Melanie Balcomb, Metro Nashville Police Chief Steve Anderson and Dr. Andrew Gregory with Vanderbilt Sports Medicine.

“We’ve asked our coaches to be a part of this and be involved in discussion to get clarity on questions they have in a lot of these areas,” MNPS athletics director Roosevelt Sanders said. “This is to make them aware and give them tools to better address their student-athletes, whether male or female.”

The conference, which is part of the YWCA’s Engaging Men initiative to reduce violence against girls and women, will be held on the Belmont campus and begins at 8:30 a.m.
