TCA's Grant Reviere is player of the week

Brandon Shields

Grant Reviere caught five passes Friday night during Trinity Christian Academy's 49-28 win over Scotts Hill.

But he made his five catches count as he scored four touchdowns and gained 174 yards.

Reviere's performance was a part of a game of efficiency for the Lions as TCA's quarterback, Kyle Akin, threw 14 passes with 10 completions. But those numbers still accounted for six scores and 292 yards.

Reviere has been in the rotation of receivers all four years of his high school career with his number of receptions and receiving yards increasing each year.

The chart looks as if it's going to see a steep spike for this season as Reviere has caught 31 passes for 508 yards and five touchdowns.

"Grant has always been one of those guys that just does a good job of getting open," said TCA head coach Blake Butler back in the offseason. "When he does get open and Kyle sees him, he makes the catch and is probably one of our more underrated players."

If Reviere continues his current pace this season, opposing defenses probably won't underestimate him anymore.
