McCallie Beats Baylor In Tennessee Classic Silver Division

Baylor Girls Second With GPS Fourth

NASHVILLE – Reed Oscar was the overall winner in 16 minutes, 49 seconds and teammate Dylan Carmack finished fifth overall in 17 minutes, 13 seconds to lead the McCallie Blue Tornado cross country team to a first-place finish in the Silver division of the Tennessee Classic, which was held here at Percy Warner Park Saturday morning.

Teammates Connor Smith and Kevin Wagoner finished in 11th and 12th places with times of 17:50 and 17:51 as McCallie finished first with 47 points.

Baylor’s Jackson Goodwin was third overall in 16:55 as the Red Raiders finished second with 59 points.

John Carlson and Alex Sumida followed Goodwin in sixth and seventh place with times of 17:32 and 17:40.

Other times for McCallie included Parker Marshall in 18th with a time of 18:19 and Eric Shadle right behind in 19th with an 18:21.

Anders Pokela was 15th for Baylor in 18:04 while teammate Wes Nation was 30th in 18:58.

Baylor’s Grace Carlson finished third in the girls’ race with a time of 20:10 as Baylor finished second with 78 behind Harpeth Hall’s 39.

Carley Braman of GPS was 11th in 21:18 as the Bruisers were fourth with 98 points.

Other finishers for Baylor included Allison Anderson (16th in 21:53), Jennie Kwon (18th in 22:18) and the trio of Marly Toledano, Sydney Gautier and Jordan Brinn, who finished 26th, 27th and 28th with times of 22:43.0, 22:43.2 and 22:45, respectively.

Other GPS times included Murfee Jones in 17th with a 21:57, Kate McVay (21st in 22:31), Madison Watson (22nd in 22:33) and Carter Dickinson (44th in 23:31).

Signal Mountain’s Thomas Porter was 17th in the boys race with a time of 18:10 while Chattanooga Christian’s Megan Bernard was 19th in 22:25 among the girls. 

The CCS boys finished 11th while Signal Mountain was 15th.
