HS FOOTBALL: Local teams hold spots in top 10

The Jackson Sun
TCA quarterback Kyle Akin looks for where to go to in the backfield against Scotts Hill earlier this season.

There wasn't a lot of change this week in the Associated Press and Tennessee Sports Writers Association top 10 rankings.

Trinity Christian Academy (No. 1) and Adamsville (No. 2) continue to hold the top two spots in Class 2A with TCA being a unanimous decision for No. 1.

Peabody held its spot at No. 4, while Huntingdon moved up one to No. 5 after Hampton took a loss.

In Class 3A, Camden is still at No. 3 after a big win over Lewis County, who dropped from No. 5 to No. 8. Westview moved up a couple spots to No. 6, while Milan stayed at No. 10.

Crockett County (No. 5) and Liberty (No. 8) held their spots in Class 4A, while North Side is still in the receiving votes list.

The No. 1 team in every other class includes Maryville in 6A, Knoxville West in 5A, Knoxville Fulton in 4A, Alcoa in 3A, Union City in 1A and Ensworth in Division II.
