Bucs Best Badgers 4-1

MOBILE, Ala.-Senior midfielder Kevin Tikhomiroff (Sao Paulo, Brazil, Complexo Eucacional Contemporaneo) scored his first two goals of the season in the first 13 minutes Friday afternoon to lead the Christian Brothers University Bucs to a 4-1 win at Spring Hill.

Tikhomiroff started the scoring early, finding the net in the fifth minute off a long pass from Diego Silva Vieira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Colegio Pitagoras). In the 13th minute, Ezra Hebert (Lafayette, La./Lafayette HS) fed a long pass to Jose Ferraz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) in the box. Ferraz crossed to Tikhomiroff on the other side of the box, and he fired a shot into the net for what proved to be the game-winner.

Samuel Wilson (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) scored in the 63rd minute to extend the CBU (5-1, 1-0 GSC) lead to 3-0 as he finished off a cross from Devon Jackson (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota East HS). The Badgers (1-5, 0-1) broke through in the 87th minute as Salvador Sanchis headed in a Danny Ochoa free kick.

Less than a minute later, Paul Banks (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) scored unassisted in the 88th minute to set the final margin, giving the Bucs a 4-1 win.

The Bucs out-shot the Badgers 15-7 for the game, including an 8-4 edge in shots on goal. Britton McGuire (Memphis, Tenn./Memphis University School) made three saves in the game for CBU.

The Bucs return to action Sunday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. as they visit West Florida. Their next home game is set for Friday night, Oct. 3, as they host Alabama-Huntsville at 7 p.m.
